Mayo Cancer Support Association and Rock Chicks are to embark on the exciting challenge of attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest and highest bra chain. The chain, which must be in excess of 70 miles, will take a massive 120,000 bras to build, 4,000 of which are being donated by bra experts, Wonderbra.

Charity fashion and food extravaganza

Claremorris Chamber is hosting a Fashion and Food Extravaganza on February 7 in the McWilliam Park Hotel. The event is in association with Mayo Cancer Support - a charity that helps families dealing with cancer. There will be a fashion show, food demo, hair and make-up advice, and a best dressed lady competition with a prize of €300 to be spent in the participating shops.

Mayo Cancer Support Association, now in its ninth year, provides emotional support and practical help for people living with cancer, their families and friends. The services available are a wig fitting service, a bra/prosthesis fitting service and weekly support groups for cancer patients. The drop-in centre offers a professional listening service, information and professional counselling, aromatherapy, massage, reflexology and stress management. All services are free of charge and are available to family members or friends.
